With its members inevitably spread out between New York City, Caracas, and Buenos Aires, EL FANTASMA (The Phantom)focuses on creating films that respond to the needs of its makers -all Venezuelans- who seek, failing always permited, to push cinema's boundaries, to think inside and outside of it, whether through classic structures or atypical ones, questioning in the process their cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Their films have won awards and have been screened at international festivals such as Locarno, Sitges, Brussels, Sheffield DocFest, Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse, Jameson Cinefest Miskolc, Uruguay FF, Brooklyn FF, Tacoma FF, Curtas Río de Janiero, Beijing Short FF and more.
