With its members inevitably spread out between New York City, Caracas, and Buenos Aires, EL FANTASMA (The Phantom)focuses on creating films that respond to the needs of its makers -all Venezuelans- who seek to make, question, destroy and re-build cinema, exploring in the process their cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Their films have won awards and have been screened at international festivals such as Locarno, Mar del Plata, Sitges, Brussels, Sheffield DocFest, Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse, Jameson Cinefest Miskolc, Uruguay Film Festival, Brooklyn Film Festival, Tacoma Film Festival, Curtas Río de Janeiro Short Film Festival, Beijing Short Film Festival.
