EL FANTASMA cinema & post studio + collective

Inevitably spread between the United States (NYC + IOWA) and Caracas, Venezuela, EL FANTASMA focuses on the collective and individual creation of films that respond to our needs, from short experimental fictions and creative archival documentaries to narrative and hybrid feature films navigating speculative fictions wrapped in drama, surrealism, and the ever-changing reality of digital worlds. We seek to create and question cinema and the moving image, dissecting our cultural, political, and ethnic origins, as well as other important daily obsessions that always arise. Our films belong in the big screen, yet also transcend it when necessary.

In addition to this, we help others complete their films, both in the graphic area (posters, & decks) and by serving as a liaison and coordinator throughout the post-production stage (consultancy, editing, color, sound design and mixing, finishing, etc.)

Our films have been screened and awarded at festivals such as Locarno, Rotterdam, BFI, Mar del Plata, Sitges, Edinburgh, Brussels, Belo Horizonte, Nouveau Cinema, Camden IFF, Sheffield DocFest, Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse, Festival Internacional Cinematográfico del Uruguay, Brooklyn Film Festival & many others.
